The history of this business began when I was a Kid. I remember that I used to offer Snorkeling trips to people that wanted to go see the island, as my mother used to manage a Hotel in the heart of West End Roatan, the place that started the tourism industry on our island.
I graduated with a bachelor's degree in computer science which helped me learn about the future needs on the island. I starting my first Job in a computer cafeteria, where I was able to step out into the real world of the technology. I was able to understand many of concepts, on how the cruise line industry managed their business. I started formulating my own ideas, I knew that I needed of more experience as island tourism just was starting to evolve.
After my second and third job out of school I was able to gain more experience in customer service, as reception officer and concierge. I was meeting different people from all around the world while at a Hotel named Coconut Tree in West End as well as with the Mayan Princess in West Bay. This gave me great insight to the international tourism on this island.
After working for Mahogany Bay Port in maintenance and support operations for the only Sky Lift in Honduras, I learned way more than I expected. Constantly meeting new people, finding out what they wanted to see in a tour company, that is when I was hooked.
I decide to create my own tour company and my wish was to became my own Boss and help others to promote tourism on the island for cruisers (local term for Cruise ship passengers).
To get one last stop for knowledge, I went to work for a company named Banana Coast Tours, as they were bringing Norwegian Cruise Line industry to a port Named Trujillo on the North East of our country Honduras.
After countless seminars given to teach hospitality professionals how to attend cruisers and tours. I encourage myself live my dream and create my own tour company. I started with a joint venture of LetsgoRoatan tours Roatán, and then created my own company Roatán Personalized Tours (RPT).
